Piotr Scholz – guitarist / composer / conductor



Piotr Scholz (born 1991) is a guitarist, composer, conductor and lecturer at the Institute of Instrumental Jazz Performance at the Academy of Music in Łódź. He is also a winner of many prominent awards, such as Grand Prix of Lotos Jazz Festival, 17th Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa, Grand Prix of Jazz nad Odrą, Grand Prix of Jazz Fruit on Mladi Ladi Jazz Festival in Prague, Grand Prix on 18th National Contest of Jazz and Blues Bands, as well as 3rd and 1st place on International Jazz Composition Contest during Silesian Jazz Festival. Has been honoured with many prestigious scholarships, such as The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Grant Programme, The Ministry of Science and Higher Education Grant Programme, Artistic Grant Programme from City of Poznań and Young Poland Grant Programme.

He has been collaborating with Jean Luc-Ponty, Stanley Jordan, Caroline Davis, Włodek Pawlik and Leszek Możdżer.

His author's projects are the following: Weezdob Collective, Piotr Scholz Sextet and PJPOrchestra.

Piotr Scholz being still a young musician, has already accomplished many artistic achievements, he is engaged in recording, performing and composing activities. He is dynamic and creative guitarist. Also, he conducts groups and big bands.
